Season start for Finland and Norway

Just a week ago the first rider from our region made the season start in France and during easter a bunch of Scandinavians head down to Netherlands to race the Dutch Flat Track Cup opener of 2026.

In the southern part of our Nordic region tracks are opening as we speak, but to be able to race you have to aim even more south.

Saku Purtilo from Finland who is in Spain to prepare for the World Championship-serie of 2026, made his first race of the year in the French flat track Cup a week ago ending up with a podium in spite of weather misery making the start both cold and wet as we understand. Purtilo went back to Spain straight after the race to get some more practise before WC-series start.

During Easter the yearly premiere at Roden and the Dutch flat track cup where held. Lots of riders from all over including a bunch of WC-riders like reigning Champion Ervin Krajcovic, Ondrej Svedic, familiar to riders who raced in Vetlanda, William Bonnici, Jack Bell as well as Menno Van Meer on the starting line in the Pro class. Amoung this awesome riders about half of Norway joined the race. Not really, but the Norweigan team was well represented in different classes. Talented Malene Solvang and Øyvind Dahl who both joined the Pro class did very well in this tough competition and Øyvind ended up at a 7th place followed by Malene on 8th.
– I couldnt keep the same speed as the fastest guys, Malene says in a mail and adds But it was really good practise.

Bjørn Kjustad also dared to race the fastest guys in Europe and ended up at same points as Maikel Dijkstra.

In the Vintage class Norweigan Nikki Twang gave his contenders a hard time claiming the second place only beaten by Freddy Tott. We have no information of the rest of the Norweigan team but we know there where several other riders, and if we get more info we will update the results.

First race in our own region is Vinsvoll and Stram Vajer on May 2nd, registration is open.

The Premiere of the FIM Flat track WC is May 9 and its held at Roden for the first time.
