55 riders in Viking Cup

The finale round of Viking Cup is getting closer and it looks like its going to be a grande one. 55 riders are signed up at the moment and its still possible to register for entry. And for the one following the cup there are some fine surprises too.

In less then 14 days the finale rounfd of Viking Cup is a reality. Riders from the whole Nordic region including Germany are gathering to decide who is the fastest rider. From Finland we have a bunch of fast ones and the other day we got confirmed Saku Purtilo , the young talent from Finland is coming to both defend his title from last years but also enter the Pro Class. Saku is at the moment doing his first season in the FIM World Championship and got injured in the first round in Terenzano Italy. But with a super fast recovery from broken ribs and injured lung, he was already back on track for the second round in Meissen Italy where he made a solid performance despite still healing. Just the day after he raced Flat Track Challenge 2 in Gorzow Poland amoung the best of the the rest of the WC-riders and had a real good round ending on a very good 8th plc. Next race in FIM World Championship for Saku is in Donji Kraljevec in Croatia the week after Viking Cup Finale in Vetlanda, but as the team stated ” he need more practise and also race to get back where he was before the crash”.

But Saku is not the only great news. A number of amateur riders is making all three rounds and the last to sign up was Aki Laakonen member of Burt racing as well as the second half of family Hyvärinen. But their are many great riders signed up and great news is that Mikko Koskinen, now also is confirmed in Pro class, but also signed up in another class and there is no doubt he will go for the win and give the rest of the signed up riders a great challenge.
