Amateur Champion Lantto signed up in Thunderbike
The other day Jukka Virkamäki, Finn living in Sweden signed up in Thunderbike on his newly built Honda framer. And it looks like Thunderbike is going to be one of the toughest classes this year, when lots of good riders swapping bikes and class into the most extreme purpose built battle. Our guess was that this should have happened already 2024, but it was just a delay as it now seems. We thought we knew who was on to change but today we learned that even the Finns are on the same path, when last years Amateur Champion Aku Lantto signed up for both Hooligan and Thunderbike on what we belive is a KTM.
Last year the Pro class gathered the best of the best in our region and this year we hope to see some Swedish riders in that class. Signed up for the first round is among others Finnish young talent Saku Purtilo, but since we know that this young rider also doing his first year in the World Championship the schedule and daily shape will decide if he manage to participate in more rounds. Viking Cup have now around 20 riders signed up so far and most of them signed up for at least two rounds. Since the news about the third round was released last friday, the organizers expect that some of them will sign up even for that round.
