Dates ready and great news for “Viking cup” 2026

Due some heavy load of work for Finland organizing this years European finales in Ice racing as well as an ongoing series in both ice racing and ice road racing we have been waiting for the dates to be settled, but now its all done and there are more good news and some awesome changes.

First of all Varkaus with Appe Mustonen is stepping back this year, helping out with the pre work and everything that has to be done in advance. Last years race in Finland both in Varkaus and Kauhajoki was excellent according to the riders we spoke to and we know that it was due to Appe Mustonen’s effort who thought of everything and made all riders feel welcome.

Instead of Varkaus, Round 1 will be raced in Seinäjoki which is a 340 meter long track just about 60 km north of Kauhajoki who again invites us for Round 2 on their fantastic long track, 600 meters. This will save lots of time on the road for the riders but who still have a double header in Finland.

Good news and more to come cause some time ago we learned that Norway is back as a co organizer of the Nordic Flat Track Cup. Due to heavy rain in Vetlanda last year and a rain cancelled round, Norway as a long time partner of the cup stepped up and the third round where held along with Lunners Hells race in Oslo. This year Lunner and Oslo Follo will be an official partner and organize Round 4 and also the finale round of this years Nordic Flat Track Cup aka Viking cup”. The date for Oslo is almost ready and August is the month but they need some more time to confirm everything before going public with date and also open registration.
