Last years defier, Ossi Rantala is confirmed
He recently became Ice roadracing champion for the sixth time and now he his going for the flat track season and just registered for the Viking Cup 2025. Reigning champion finnish rider and two time World Champion, Lasse Kurvinen, was severly impended by some really talented riders during 2024 rounds of Viking Cup. Very experienced rider Mikko Koskinen was there, Czech WC-rider Ondrej Svedic was there Norweigan Øyvind Dahl was there, but most of all was Kurvinen threatened by young multiple Ice road Racing Champion Ossi Rantala who at the last round finally managed to show who is who by giving Kurvinen the race of the race ending up winning Viking Cups last round of the season at Grenland Track in Norway.
This years cup starts with a double header in Finland at Varkaus and Kauhajoki track June 6-8 ending with the finales at Vetlanda track in Sweden first weekend in July. Koskinen has not signed up yet, but our guess is that he will and young Saku Purtilo who is doing his first year as a FIM world Championship rider is already registered for some rounds. Can this two riders challenge Rantala, or will Norweigan Øyvind Dahl have something to ad in this years Viking Cup? The thrill is on.
