Rule book updates

Most of the countrys are making updates and changes in rules during the slow season. The work with the Swedish rulebook started already during autumn and right before christmas they where ready to be annexed into the excisting rule book.
There are some extensive changes from 2026 so anyone racing in Sweden should absolutely have a look at theese changes.
Both classes and what some classes includes are new so to be well prepared for the season take part of the full rulebook which you find here Swedish rulebook trackracing.
Shortly there are some classes changing names:
Amateur is becoming Intermediate, Pro 450 is becoming DT MX and one is introducing an Expert class.
The reason for this is that there are basically to typoes of classes and has been since the first rules where made. On one side we have all the model or year specific classes like all the vintage as well as Hooligan, Thunderbike and now also DT MX-bikes. On the other side we have all the classes where the skilles of the rider defines which class you should race within. Since ll this are open to any bike within the rulebook the logic says there has to be an Expert as well. Newbie, Rookie, Intermediate and also Expert.
Surely we will se combinations of classes at the beginning, but with more riders every year we also need to find classes for each and everyone.
Some changes within existing classes has also been made and for the former 450-class which now is DT MX you are now allowed a 2-stroke up to 500 cc as well as 4-stroke up to 450 cc.
Thunderbike opens up for more engine alternatives by allowing 450 cc engines, but also points out what the class is really about, pure framers. One also make flat track tires mandatory from 2026 in this class.
